My car won't shift out of park the speedometer isn't working, none of my gauge's work. I had the brake light switch replaced about 6 months ago and about 4 months ago I had the starter replaced and all was fine until last night I drove to the store and the car was fine. I came out of the store, started the car and noticed my gas hand wasn't working so I tried to put it in reverse, but it's stuck in reverse. I finally pressed the shift lock button and got it in reverse and then into drive. I drove home just fine except for no speedometer no gauges. This morning the same thing stuck in park. Why? What could possibly be wrong now? I've already spent almost $2,000.00 on repairs in the last 6 months. Please give me any advice or ideas as I can't afford another mechanic right now, I've been ripped off enough by them. The last two basically overcharged me.

I am sorry to hear that. Well, at least we don't charge for our service. :) When the car won't shift out of park please see if the brake lights are working. If so, let's check for power at the fuse # 2 and #30 in the fuse panel on the left side of the dash. here is a guide that will help. Fuse #30 also powers the dash so that's why I think you have an ignition relay that is going out, which is common.

Here are the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works, also the ignition relay is in the left side fuse panel as well. Let me know please, I want to get this fixed for you.
