Can an after market stereo harness for a 1999 Buick Regal fit a 2005 Toyota Sienna car stereo factory harness?

Hi,

With aftermarket stereos, there are specific wires that are common on all of them You will have a ground, a power supply, and speaker wires. With that, as long as you connect the wiring to the correct places, it will work. However, the Toyota and Buick are two very different vehicles and the factory wiring is different.

Let me know if you have other questions or need help.

Joe

If I'm understanding correctly you are asking if one of the conversion harnesses for a Buick would work on a factory Toyota stereo. That answer would be no. They use different connectors on the two vehicles as well as different control methods. Also, if you are trying to install a Toyota stereo into the Buick or the other way around, that would not work as they use different communication methods between the two makes.

Thank you. I may be purchasing the Toyota Sienna. Presently I own a Buick Regal and to avoid buying 2 radios, I would swap the Toyota radio to the Buick since it's an older vehicle. But as you stated is not going to work well. You just saved me a stressful situation of buying modifications and returning.
Thank you again.

You are welcome. These days swapping any electronics is getting harder to do as they integrate everything into the vehicle and add more features. Many of the radios these days control much more than just the sound and just removing them can keep the vehicle from being usable. Then you have vehicles like the Tesla that don't really have a stereo in them, instead they use a receiver with the radio controls being a software app.

Oh, I've seen that in a test drive. It's a monitor the size of a LR TV and it controls everything from the A/C, heat, lights, etc.

Yep, there are others that act the same way. The only way to add a different stereo in something like that is to add a complete system and not re-use much if any of the original parts.
