Steering wheel locked and radio locked displaying code

This vehicle was opened without the key and when the battery was put and the terminals connected, the vehicle steering was locked. Please who knows the security code I can use to unlock the radio and steering wheel.

Hi,

Nothing should have locked the steering wheel. I'm not completely sure I understand what is locked on it.

As far as the radio, they have different codes. Take a look at the attachment below. It indicated how to unlock the radio and where to find the code.

Thank you so much for your response. The security was lost and there is no way I can recover it. I have the serial number of the radio. Please if you can help me contact Jaguar Dealer, I am a mechanic/electrician base in Nigeria, I had searched all round Nigeria to see if I can find a dealer but I didn't see. Please help me out. This problem makes the vehicle not start again since the incidence.

Hi,

The only thing I can suggest is to use one of the sites I mentioned above. There is a small charge, but that looks like the only option. Please keep in mind, in the original owner's manual that came with the car, the code is indicated.

I tried talking to a friend that works for a dealership near me, and he told me he had no way of retrieving it. I'm sorry. I really wanted to help, but that is where I am at this point. Let me know about the manual or if you have other questions.

I'm not sure what the cost is. I wouldn't think it is expensive. Walk through it to see what the cost is. If it is too much, cancel before paying.

Let me know if helps. Also, in the rear of the manual where radio, security, and so on are listed, are you certain if you check those areas there is no code?

I have gotten the radio code from the manual and unlock the radio but the steering wheel is still locked. How do I unlock the steering wheel?

The steering lock is secured to the lower casting of the adjustable steering column and consists of a locking pin and an electric motor. The electric is operated and controlled by the REM, GEM, and the instrument cluster. Have you checked fuses to these components?

The steering should unlock by the installation of the key. Check to make sure nothing is disconnected and inspect the GEM.

I attached a pic of the fuse box below and highlighted the fuses to check. Fuse 4 is for the REM and fuse 20 is for the GEM.

Make sure the fuse is good and there is power to it.
