My van has been sitting several weeks with a dead battery. I finally got to it today and replaced the battery correctly. All the electronics work including lights, windows, power seat, power doors, even the rear backup camera works when I place the selector in the R position. All the instrumentation lights come on and go out as they should, except two red squiggly lines on the left-hand side of the instrument panel when the key is turned on. The security red light comes on and goes off as it should, but the two red squiggly lines on the far left of the instrument panel stays on. I get no noise from the starter, not even a clicking noise. Everything worked fine several weeks ago when I parked it. The only thing I have done is change the battery. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The two red squiggly lines indicate the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) warning light. Is the battery you changed into the car new or used? Do all lights go out when you try to crank the engine over? If so, you may have a corroded or loose battery connection.

Here is a guide to help:

If this is not the problem, please go over this video:

Try to crank the engine over in neutral to see if anything changes. If you tap on the starter and it starts working it is bad, here is how to change it out. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I watched both videos. The battery has been checked by AutoZone and is good. When I turn the key to crank over the engine the lights do not go dim, including the headlights. Putting it into the neutral position does not do anything to help. It does not make any clicking noises as a loose connection or dead battery would make. There is no corrosion. As first stated, everything else in the van works as it should when the key is on. The little red lightning bolt between the red parentheses on the left side of the instrument cluster comes on when the key is turned and stays on about 15 seconds longer than the other lights, but then eventually goes off also. As soon as I can find some help, I will try the hammer to the starter trick and see if that does anything. I also must find out if there is a fuse to the starter. I'm 71 years old and disabled battling cancer. Please bear with me. I will be in touch as soon as I can to finish this. Thank you for all your help.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I would try the hammer trick on the starter to see if there are any changes, it does sound like the starter is the problem though. Here is a guide to check and see for sure though in case the hammer trick does not work.
