Starting issues began like typical other owners of Dodge rams then got worse over time.
First jump starting would help. Maybe it'll start here and there without a jump.
Then I assumed I needed a new starter. Put one in, started w jump because battery was dead from sitting.
Then I pull out at a stop sign and it just shuts off. Tried restarting, nothing.
Tried jumping again, nothing. I figured I needed a new battery by now. Put one in n it started right up.
Had about two days of no issues then went out to start and only clicking. After playing with key turns, it finally starts. This time, feels like no power when accelerating. I'm keeping gas pedal on because of incident when I pulled out and it shut off. Now it starts here and there but you have to keep trying. I dare not turn it off while I'm running errands because of the chance it'll let me sit.
Took it to AutoZone. Battery is good. Which I knew that. Just got it the other day from there and alternator is good. Only got one error code.
P1762-Governor pressure sensor offset improper voltage.
Guy told me to look it up because he didn't know what it meant.
Now my question is, would that error possibly be the culprit of the whole starting issue or one of many to follow? Because from what I read, it seems it's just the issue with loss of power while accelerating.
Is it possible that by putting a new battery in w new starter and the same old alternator somehow gave a false reading of passing the alternator?
Also, any input is greatly appreciated! Just don't ask about readings because I don't have any gauges. I usually have a mechanic look at it but with money tight, I decided to learn how to fix issues that come up. I'm a hands on, video and visual learner. I can do basics. The starter was my first ever biggest repair I did myself.

Also, the loss of "gitty up" when accelerating. Only happened once. Knock on wood. I drove it three times after, usually driving to close by store. If I'm driving fifteen minutes or longer, oil light flickers on and off. Turns off usually while idling. It feels as if it's acting up but I'm home by the time that happens.
Oil, transmission, brake fluid are good. Antifreeze has leak which I knew but I pour a little in to get me going. It leaks right out. Not sure exactly where but if you are looking down on the alternator, there's a round disc looking piece that I saw had antifreeze dripping onto it then hitting ground. Not sure what's in between all that because I didn't get up in yet because I wanted starting issues solved. But now I'm also asking for possible areas that it would be leaking n how to fix it. Again, I thank you all for any input.

Sorry. Also, temperature gauge rises and no heater (of course from leak) and oil gauge isn't normal. I have a feeling there's a leak there too but again, I'd have to look around. Which I didn't get to yet.

Hello,

This is a problem the voltage reaching the governor pressure sensor. Yes this would explain all of the trouble that your vehicle has been experiencing. The good news, though, is that in the diagrams down below I have included for you a factory diagnostic troubleshooting flowchart that will pin down the problem your vehicle is having and allow you to only fix what is broken, instead of just throwing parts at it, guessing until you finally replace the right part. Please go through the flowcharts and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
