Car's engine shut off on the highway. I have replaced the camshaft sensor, oil pressure sensor, new battery and new belt. My car wants to start but it just will not. Only code left is p done.
I got a new starter and flex wheel less than three years ago. I even tried giving it a jump.

Good morning.

Does the engine crank over?
Can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn on the key?

What were the code numbers you had seen?

Was P0522 and P0340 and now it is just done. I do not hear the fuel pump at all. I was thinking of trying the relay switches and the check the fuel pump. I do not think I can do the labor on the fuel pump though.

Good morning.

522 is for the oil pressure sensor. Below is the description and possible causes. In most cases, it is the sensor.

P0522
Item Description
Symptom/DTC P0522
Descriptor
Pressure Sensor Low
Probable Causes
Oil Pressure Sensor (OPS) Internal Failure
Oil Pressure Sensor (OPS) Voltage Below 0.1 Volts
Oil Pressure Signal Shorted to Ground
Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

340 is for the camshaft position sensor. Check the connector at the sensor to be sure the wires are not damaged

P0340
Item Description
Symptom/DTC P0340
Descriptor
Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
Probable Causes
5 Volt Supply Circuit Open
5 Volt Supply Circuit Shorted to Ground
5 Volt Supply Circuit Shorted to Voltage
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Signal Circuit Open
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Signal Circuit Shorted Ground
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Signal Circuit Shorted to Voltage
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Signal Shorted to (K6) 5 Volt Supply Circuit
Intermittent Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Signal
Intermittent Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Signal
Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (K44) Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Signal
Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (K6) 5 Volt Supply
Sensor Ground Circuit Open

I have already changed both of these parts out. I do not hear the fuel pump when I try to start it up so I was thinking that could be my next step. Thank you for your help Roy! More suggestions are appreciated!

You will need to confirm power to the cam sensor as well as the fuel pump. The 340 indicates a voltage issue not a component issue.

Check for power to the fuel pump as well.

The 340 and 522 codes are gone, they are no longer popping up. That's why I'm moving on to the fuel pump.

When the engine stops running do you have spark at the plugs? Here is a guide to help you test.

You never replaced the crankshaft sensor just the camshaft sensor?

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
