It will not crank after the installation of a new starter. It would click once when the key is turned. It started over twelve times immediately after the new starter was installed, then I shifted the drive train into 4-wheel high to check the front drive shaft and it won't crank again. I have checked the voltage under the starter relay and the contacts at the bottom right location that has no power. All five other contacts read 12.5 volts.

Hi,

Two of the pins should have power with the key on. I'm not sure why you had battery power to all of them.

I attached is the wiring schematic below for the starting system circuit. First, check to make sure both fuses 18 is good in the interior fuse box. Aso, check to make sure fusible link E in the under-hood fuse/relay box is good. In addition to checking the fuse, make sure there is power to and from them. Here's a link you may find helpful:

If they are, go to the starter motor. The smaller gauge wire that is black with a pink tracer should receive 12v when the key is in the start position. Check to see if that is happening.

Also, as always, make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe
