Long crank time before starting

When I turn the ignition on it keeps cranking for a while and then it finally starts up.

Hi Williamross,

Here is a guide that really explains this well and possible causes. I would suggest with starting to get fuel pressure while this is happening to see if it is low. If so, then you need a fuel pump or have a restriction in the line.

Read this over and let me know if you have questions. Once you get the fuel pressure let me know and we can go from there. I just went ahead and sent you the procedure for the fuel pump as this is the most common cause but please run through the testing in the link above and let me know if the fuel pressure checks out. If it does, send me the PSI reading while cranking and we can go from there. Thanks
