Ticking sound when car is turned off

The car has a ticking sound when it is turned off and it will not start again unless I disconnect the battery.

check around where it is coming from it may be a relay and disconnect it and switch with a like relay see if it continues, if it does it may have a short in harness causing it or a module problem.
