While driving the engine sputters and stalls?

Whenever I'm driving my vehicle and I slow down or stop it sputters and stalls.

Hi,

If the stalling happens when the engine returns to idle, it could be a few things. Most commonly, an engine vacuum leak can cause it. Also, there is an idle speed control valve that can do it, or even a dirty throttle body.

This is where I would start unless the check engine light is staying on while the engine is running. If that is the case, let me know.

So, first, check to see if there are any vacuum leaks.

Let me know what you find. Also, as mentioned above, if the check engine light stays on while the engine is running, let me know. Additionally, let me know if the engine always does this at idle even if you just start the engine.
