Stalls at engine start

This is a developing problem (twice in the last two weeks) that I want to tackle early. When I start the car (smooth start), the engine immediately stalls. This will continue to happen until I tap the gas pedal, and then I do not have any problems. I think it is either the fuel pump, or else the fuel pump regulator. Does my car have a fuel pump regulator, or a pump sensor? And where is the part located?

I think we can safely say that the fuel pump is not the issue, as you say, the engine does run after you tap the accelerator. There are a few things that could cause this sort of behavior, the first link I supplied below runs you through some of the possibilities.

I would start looking at the Idle Air Control Valve because it is the easiest.
