When shifting the transmission from drive to reverse the vehicle stalls and shuts off?

When I switch from D gear to R gear and if I don’t hit the gas right away the car stalls and shuts down and I have to take out the key and restart it and it turns on. It only stalls when I switch gears from D gear to R gear.

This sounds like you have a torque converter that has come apart internally, but to be sure can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response. There is no trouble code that will show this even though we should run the codes to see what comes up, these guides can help us get started:
