Stabilitrak light is on and sometimes it is hard to get it to go into gear

I have to press on the brake a few times then it will go into drive or reverse.

We need to start with checking for codes. Normally these items, stability track and the brake pedal, are not related but there could be a link which is why we need to start with codes.
