There has been a light squealing in the engine for a while off and on. Mostly above 30 MPH never at idle. Just had the serpentine belt and belt tensioner replaced and still have the squealing noise. What could it be?

Hello, if the belt and tensioner have been replaced, the first thing to check is to remove the belt and verify that all the pulleys turn freely and then start the engine to see if the noise is still there with the belt off. You wont hurt anything to run the engine with it off for a couple minutes. If the noise is gone. Then its something driven by the belt. If the noise is still there, then it might be a camshaft bearing starting to make noise. Bearings will make a squealing noise when they first start to wear out. But removing the belt will help to see if its an Alternator bearing for example. You may have to raise the idle to hear the noise, since youre not hearing it at idle. Or take the vehicle for a drive, get it hot and up to operating temperature and then remove the belt and start it, that may help. But Ive had camshaft bearings that sounded exactly like a serpentine belt noise. These 2 guides below can help as well.

I see you had another post about this, if its something that is only happening while the vehicle is moving, are you positive its coming from the engine, and its not the wear indicators on the front brake pads. Just something else to check as well.
