My vehicle listed above S speedometer stops working immediately after I fill up the fuel tank. Everything else works fine (fuel indicator, cruise control, tach, etc. No error codes before filling up or while driving with no speedo or after it starts working again. No change in fuel mileage or "performance." Only routine servicing and I've never used the car for jump-starting. If I drive the car until the highest fuel bar disappears, then bring the car to a stop without shutting it off, then accelerate again, the speedometer will indicate accurately. Occurs when the vehicle is cold or hot. Any help is very much appreciated!

Hi,

I have a feeling the issue is within the can-bus system. There could be an open causing failure between the BCM and the TCM. Does the tachometer stop working when this happens? Also, have you had the can-bus scanned?

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. If you scan the can-bus, it will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them. It does require a scan tool that can communicate with the network. Here is a link showing how it's done:

Let me know.
