After installing a transmission from a 2003 Chevy trailblazer into a 2001 Chevy suburban, the speedometer doesn't work and the transmission isn't changing gears properly. I put a new speed sensor on.

I looked up what Vechiles are compatible with the 2003 trail blazer and it's only compatible with the 2003 Chevy suburban not the 2001 so right there could be your problem.I posted a list of compatible years and models that match your Vechile.

Is this a 1500 or 2500?Also did the one in the suburban have a removable bell housing on the transmission? How about the one from the trail blazer?

It's a 1500. Yes they both had removable bell housings. They are the exact same transmission, they had same numbers and all.
