My speedometer is not working but tachometer is. I need to know if buying a new speedometer cluster will fix the problem?

Hi Jags,

It is possible that the issue is within the cluster itself but it could be something simpler that would need to be checked before you replace the cluster.

The way this speedometer works is a sensor that reads off of the output shaft of the transmission. If this sensor is defective or the connection between the sensor and cluster is not functioning properly then that will cause the speedometer to not work.

Here is a link on how to test wiring. Also, you will need to have the sensor checked out if you do not have the proper testing equipment to do so.

Please let me know if you need more info about how to test this.

Thanks

Kenny.
