If the speedometer works, I don't think the vss is the problem?
Do the brake lamps work?
Throttle linkages are not binding?
Check for trouble codes relating to cruise. Some of the national brand auto stores may check codes for free?

Note the cruise fuses. At the moment, I can't rule out the cruise controls on the steering wheel or the wiring in the steering column.

Thanks for your reply, I took a shot and replaced speed sensor and it changed nothing, I hesitate to replace servo, however I did see a you tube video that suggested cleaning corrosion from mechanical part of servo as a fix. I wonder if those 'piston' could freeze and then short out. The one in the video showed 3? I have also tried different switch lever, but have not changed harness for switch lever. Anyway thanks for your reply once again

Were there any codes for the cruise control? Here is wiring diagram for cruise. Follow the wiring diagram for cruise, see if you can find a problem, voltage or ground.
