I am so frustrated. I have no idea what is going on. The car is fine when in drive, but in any other gear, it sounds like the car is trying to start. It's the same noise that you hear when the key is turned but the car already running. When it's in drive, it stops, but in park neutral reverse it makes the noise. I had to unhook the battery to make the noise stop. I am clueless! Please help!

U WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE STARTER AND SEE IF THE BENDIX OR GEAR IS GETTING STUCK ON THE FLY WHEEL. IT WILL DESTROY THE STARTER AND FLYWHEEL IF U KEEP DRIVING IT.

I WOULD TRY REPLACING THE STARTER SOLENOID. IT'S ON THE L/F FENDER JUST FOLLOW THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE RIGHT TO IT.
