Shifting hard

My husband replaced the transmission initially because reverse went out it in it and was shifting hard when in drive. The first tranny we got was bad so we got another one. Now we are back at square one with it shifting hard in 1, 2, 3 gears. It's an automatic transmission. It was recommended to change the valve body. Where can we start to fix this?

Do you have any codes?His does it go into reverse?Delay bang just a bang?I would start with seeing if there are any codes in the computer? If there are any let me know the exact code numbers not ode descriptions? If nothing there then a line pressure test there easy to do and the gauge set is around 50 something or the one I have an its a nice one.

Also what year and model did the transmission come out of the transmission you have in your car now?
