I have an 03 Yukon Denali with air ride suspension. It needs shocks and want to know if you can replace them with regular shocks

My "service ride control" light has been on continuously for eight years. Two GMC dealerships and one private mechanic have yet to be able to turn it off or fix it. Any ideas?

If there is nothing wrong with system then what is in the picture is the two recommended fixes which one is replace/rebuild cluster or module which module is replaced and reprogrammed. So it depends on how bad it bugs you as both can be $300.00 plus to fix.

The service ride suspension light shows on my dash. I have checked the air compressor and the rear air shocks and they work fine. I saw some sort of rubber cups between the body and frame, I don't know if they are supposed to inflate or not. There are regulare shocks on the front. What else can I do to find the problem?

The best way to find out why the warning in on is to have the vehicle scanned for codes in the suspension control module. This code or codes will give you a starting point. There are several components to this suspension setup without this code it's going to be more difficult to diagnose. I've personally see almost everything part on these air ride (original equipment) fail. Without a fault code I can't give you the help your asking for. You'll need a compatible scan tool to access the electronic suspension module. Let me know what you find.

In reply to Alice and HMAC300 - It is the cluster - The problem is 2003-2005 GMC Yukon Denali - The cluster and module were covered under a recall. I only found this out after my dealer replace 3 different parts and would not reimburse me for the parts or labor (Even though they didn't fix the problem). That real pain about this whole adventure was when I left my car (3 days but they paid rental car fees) they forgot to notate my mileage, so they put the old cluster back in. Now a have a 15 year old Denali with 0 miles and that message flashing all day long (anyone know how to disconnect the chime?)

That sounds like they did not install the old cluster because it would be programmed with the same mileage. Can you tell if it is yours scratch on the lens or? The cluster carry the mileage.
