I need to replace the cam sensor and crank sensor, I know were the crank sensor is but where is the cam sensor located at? The car has a 3800 series 2 V6 if that knowledge is needed, also what tool do I need to take the crank pulley off, I already have the other tools that will be needed for this type of repair.

Hello,

The cam position sensor is located on the right rear side of the engine, above the crankshaft pulley. And the crank position sensor is located below the crank pulley.

The cam sensor can be removed easily by removing the single bolt that mounts it to the engine.

To replace the crank sensor the harmonic balancer / crank pulley needs to be removed. It will require a special tool to remove the crank pulley. Those tools can be rented from your local auto parts store.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
