I was driving my car and knew it was due for an oil change after driving about an hour the oil light came on. I pulled over and the car was parked but still running then it shut off. So I hurried up and took the keys out. Then I waited like an hour and tried to see if it would start and it wont. Is the the engine seized forever or can I do an oil change and reset the sensors?

Good morning,

There is no resetting any sensors.

Did you check the oil level? If it was really low, then that would explain the oil light. You would need to remove the spark plugs and see if you can turn the engine manually to verify it is seized.

If it is, then it needs to be replaced.

If it turns, then I would definitely change the oil and filter and see if it will run.

If you verified the level being low, adding the oil is good but will not release the motor if it is seized.

You need to do what I suggested by removing the plugs and seeing if it will turn by hand.
