If the battery is completely dead, and the alternator is NOT charging, this will happen. Sounds like you have a charging problem. Disconnect the battery and charge it real good. Like all day and night if you have a charger that will charge at 2 amps. Once you get the battery charged completely, see if it will start the car and stay running. If so, at that time, connect a DVOM to the battery and see what the alternator is doing. It should be in the low 14's (volts) maybe upper 13's. IF not, there's your problem.
