My 98 Saturn started and then just quit. Would not start back. I pulled the spark plug wire off the 1st plug and it was full of oil. The plug area was full of oil as well. The plug was tight but there was oil all around it. Only the 1st plug, the others are dry. It has a 1.9 Liter Dual Overhead Cam engine. Any idea how the oil got into the plug area?

Maybe a bad valve cover gasket?

Thanks, any info is appreciated.

Usually what happens is oil leaks in around the sparkplug. Pull the valve cover off, get a new gasket. I always put a little high heat silicone around where the cover seals around the plugs, and change the plugs and wires and you should be fine.
