97 Saturn been running great until now. When I get on the highway the car will stick in 3rd gear. Sometimes it does this sometimes it doesn't but it's been doing this a lot more recently(usually it was due to being cold, but even when it warms up it's still doing it). I put Transy fluid in it and that hasn't helped.

Today when I went to start it, the engine turned over but it died. I did it again and cranked on it while I gave it gas and it finally fired up.

Need some help

On the starting concern I would check the coolant temp sensor they cause flooding when trying to start and all kinds of other concerns with running. Its screwed into the head right below where the upper hose goes onto the head. Also check the connector if its corroded u will have to replace the connector. Also if u change the sensor make sure u get a brass tipped one the plastic tip ones crack. There under 20 also becareful u will loose coolant and only do it when the engine is cold. As far ur transimission is concern could u please go get the codes read and bring them back to me. Let me know what u find.
