1996 Saturn SL2

My car will not turn over. When you try to crank it it makes a weird tinkling sound. Sometimes when you try to start it it acts like it wants to turn over but then just starts tinkling. The starter was replaced about a year ago. The alternator and battery was replaced about a yaer ago as well. Lights still come on. There are no indicator lights on. Could this be a flywheel or timing belt problem.

Hi there,

Not sure what you mean by this strange noise, but in any case, start with the battery, check terminals are clean & tight, have the starter check and the power at the starter, re post if you still have a problem for more detailed checks.
