I have to put in a quart of oil atleast once a week, I don't see any leaks and the car dosn't smoke at all and the spark plugs are clean. Do you happen to know what might be wrong with my vehicle?

Oil doesn't evaporate. So if you dont see any leaks, then it must be burning it off.

You didn't say how many miles you drive in a week, or what weight oil you use.

Possibly switching to a thicker oil will help

This is a well known issue with Pre-GM Saturn's and even some of the new ones they burn oil excessively, its not uncommon for me to hear that they use a quart of oil every month or so, its for the "most" part normal for these cars, but if you notice any knocking or excessive smoking you may want to take a closer look at'er, also how many miles do you put on it in a week? That may also be your problem. I know my 95 uses about half a quart every 800 to 900 miles then again I put about 400 miles a week on mine.

I was on another web site, saturnfans. Com and there is a lot on the subject of Saturns burning oil. It is due to the poorly designed rings. Apparently this is a well known design flaw on the Saturn S series. From what I read on that forum it is vital to a Saturn's engine to do regular oil changes and a lot of people recommended using a synthetic oil. From what I read, losing 1 qt. Oil per 1500 - 3000 miles is about average for this car.

Bvische, Brings a very good point to the table. This was the issue with there design I was refering too. The synthetic oil will help. Also I would move your car to the severe maintinace schedule for oil changes or at least 2500 miles. Mobile One high mileage syntehtic is what I use in mine it helps with the blow-by and starts easier when cold 5w-30 It never hurts either to by a quart or too of the same oil while your getting it changed, cause mixing different brands can cause some issues as well.
