HOW TO CHANGE A FUEL PUMP

The fuel pump/fuel level sensor is all one unit and is located INSIDE the fuel tank. There is a lock-ring holding everything in place. Relieve the fuel pressure (both in tank and in the fuel lines) and carefully tap the lock-ring loose (counter clockwise - using NON SPARKING tools!).
Please be very careful and have fire extinguisher handy. A shop manual or other reliable reference is highly recommended.
BTW, are you sure it's the fuel pump? Checking fuel pump pressure (procedure is outlined in any reputable pub) would be advisable prior to doing a fuel pump swap out.
