1996 Saturn SC1 Service Engine light

My SC1 Service Engine light comes on, and there is no code stored in the computer to help figure out what is wrong. It runs excellent, and nothing seems wrong. Could you tell me why the Service Engine light means?

Are u sure its ur check engine light thats comming on u should have a code without a code theres really no advice I can give. Can u post a pic of light thats comming on that would be helpfull as well. Let me know.
