How to disconnect a service light (the one with the wrench symbol)?

Why would you want to disconnect that? It is telling you there is something wrong. It is there to alert you of a problem.

My OBD II reader is not showing any codes, yet the service light with a wrench will not turn off.

That likely means you have a code in another system that your code reader cannot access. Very common. Most of the code readers can "see" the engine control module, sometimes the ABS or airbags. However there are literally hundreds of codes the systems can turn the light on for and you need a better scan tool to actually read them. The free scans many places do also are limited like that.

The wrench light is for faults that are not effecting the emissions.
