The Satellite radio doesn't always connect like in the past and the backup camera flickers and the image is flipped horizontally. The camera is a Park View camera. Are the two issues connected? I know just a little about cars and try to repair them myself if I can.

Hi,

These two systems are not related other than the fact that they are in the radio. A radio issue could cause this but there are other things that need to be replaced first.

As for the SAT radio, that is a simple antenna to the radio and if there is something over top the antenna on the roof then you will get intermittent connection. Usually the antenna itself is the issue. However, just make sure nothing is over top of it. It should be a small square on the roof.

As for the camera issue, that could be the camera itself or the wiring, or the radio (assuming you have the display in the radio and not the rear view mirror).

Both of these systems are not easily tested. There is a test antenna that the dealers have for the radio issue and the back up camera issue needs to be tested while it is acting up.

If I were going to guess, I think the antenna for the SAT radio is the issue and the radio is the issue for the back up camera. However, depending on which radio you have, you need to make sure it is up to date.

Here is the update site that you can check to see if there is one available:
