My Saab will turn over but it wont fire up. Over the last few days it was having trouble starting and sometimes and it sounded like the battery was dead but I was able to roll start it. The last time I tried it would turn over and over but never fire up.

Any ideas what is wrong?

If I can figure out what is wrong I could try and fix it myself.

Get a starting fluid/ether/better off gas in a spray bottle and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

So it has a spark and I think it is the fuel pump. However I am not sure about how to get at the fuel pump on a 94 Saab 900 SE V6. They did not have a book about them at the auto parts store. Where would I go about getting a diagram about finding and replacing the fule pump?

Sir-you need a repair manual I foresee problems as we go. Check under the backseat or trunk for an access panel if none you have to drop the fuel tank.

Power the fuel pump from the battery before you comeback and tell me what happened
