2001 SAAB 9-3 repair Question engine died

Was driving home on the freeway at 60 mph when the oil light came on and the power fell off then the car died.I pulled over and tried to start the car and it was very hard to start and there is a knocking noise coming from the left side(when in front of car looking at the motor) and now the car has only 50% of the power and runs horrible.

Sounds like u lost your alternator or a pulley, check to see if the engine drive belt is n place if so get alternator & or a/c compressor plus pulleys inspected, for the noise that u r hearing, post back soon.
