Hello,
my car is failing to start, very off and on. I started it yesterday, drove for about an hour with no problems, parked my car for about 4 hours, went to drive home. Car wouldn't start. I get all the power, radio, air, lights etc. The car cranks and cranks but nothing. I recently had the DIC (direct ignition cassette) replaced for the recall and I thought this would fix the problem I was having prior to the exchange. Troubleshooting, I removed the DIC took out the plugs to check the gapping. And even though I had been cranking the engine for a good while, when I removed the plugs I didn't smell any gas in the cylinder. My only thought to negate the fuel pump as my problem is that I hear it start up when I crank the car and when it runs I don't get any lagging or response time issues when I press the gas. Any thoughts?

First things first check if u have fuel at the fuel rail just uncap check port on fuel rail inside engine compartment if gas sprays up [only for a short while it will] after pressing check valve then fuel pump is fine and your problem is the engine crank shaft position sensor, replace and you are good to go, [there is no real way to check this sensor as such as per saabs]
