When I crank the car it sits in an idle and revs up and down and sometimes goes dead and then while I'm driving when it gets to a certain RPM between about 1,200 and 1,600 RPMs it does sort of the same thing it almost like it just cuts out and then kicks back in but sometimes it's so bad it's almost like the car goes dead at it 1,300 RPMs while you're going down the road but then kick back in when you give it more gas.

It sounds like you have a leak between the throttle body and the MAF sensor. Here is an image of what I would check for tears or holes, also make sure it is securely on the air filter housing which is where the MAF sensor is. Also, do you have a check engine light on? If so, we should run the codes.

Also, I would service the throttle body if that has not been down recently.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
