I have followed steps described in post 2002 Yaris ignition key reprogramming steps successfully until the doors lock and unlock, but does not seem to except my new-ish key fob (second hand key fob and changed the insides with new electronics and battery I got off eBay) switches little sticky.
I bought two new toy43 key fobs with blank blades but locksmith could not cut blades to fit until he cut a silica key that worked first time. So I have taped it to the fobl i.
Can you advise why it will not finish the procedure and code the new fob?

If one button is stuck down the fob will not program. What is the procedure you used to reprogram the fob? Please let me know, Ken

Hi thanks for responding Ken.

Procedure I follow is approximately driver door open key out of ignition-put key in out two times close n open door two times key in out 1 time door close open 2-times put key in close door turn key all way but no start out & usually doors locks cycle once! Then press both buttons on key followed by lock only, as per instructions but no response from key! I get to this stage and car is in pairing mode but won't accept the used key fob that I believed was okay for the job is useless. I think I need to find a blank to write the cars computer to send it's code to. I think!
I cannot find a new blank 2004 Toyota Yaris key fob. I cannot afford to pay a dealership hundreds to provide a spare and in fear I will lose my only key and need a new ignition!

Yes, that is the way you program the key so it looks like you have that correct. I would say the fob is no good or not being recognized for some reason. You may have to visit the dealer unfortunately. Please let us know what happens. :)
