I am replacing original Delphi Delco 10318438 RDS cd/cassette/FM stereo with Delphi amp in trunk with Pyle PLDN83BT.5 stereo. Currently, just going car wire harness to stereo harness, everything works but no sound. (It actually worked for a while like this on a new JVC)

My research has presented a few answers, possibly involving the chime (which I don't necessarily need), possibly using the power on wire to energize the power amp in the trunk, etc. I have 2 questions: 1.) I need the wiring schematic for the entire head unit, power amp and speaker setup. The current rear speaker are the old OEM GM dual coil type. The car is 2002 Z24 2-door coupe 2.4 liter 5 speed manual. Current sound system is all original.

2.) Do I really need to install a chime unit in it, as I prefer the quiet. I have wired infinity 2 wire speaker in the 4 corners. No shorts in the speaker system, I ohm tested them at about 4.5 ohms.

3.) (I know I said 2, but, hey.) The infinity speakers are newly reconditioned 1995Chrysler infinity's that have the speaker mounted attenuated amplifiers mounted on each speaker to enhance the bass. I really would like to have the choice of using the existing Delphi trunk amp or bypassing it all together and powering the 4 speakers wired through a choke and relay -- wiring schematic bypassing the power amp altogether.
I am very good at electronics and sound systems and auto stereo system, however, right now I am swamped and would really appreciate it if you guys could find the schematics I need -- can't find them. Also pin diagrams for the delphi units would also help.
You people are the best and have always worked your magic and have come through! I tell all my peers about you and a lot of them don't believe there could possibly be a group of helpful souls like you guys. Let me know if you need any more info. Stay safe and be careful, Will

Hi,

As far as the wiring schematic, I had three choices. If you look at pic 1, it indicates the RPO number for different option systems. RPO U85 is the only one with a factory amp, so I suspect that is the one the vehicle came with.

The schematic I included is for that system. Note: I had to cut each page in half to make them readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
