Repair or sell?

The vehicle listed above is an XLT model. I have about $2k in repairs n paid $2,500 for it. Never ran consistent for me. Now it needs an alternator and has an oil leak they say needs an oil gasket pan and the rest for an oil leak. Quoted cost: alternator: $500/oil leak total: like $1000-$1,200. If I fix who says it will last to 300,000 miles? Please help. Pastor Mark, mbr Ministries

If it were mine I would look for something with less miles and that doesn't need work. The Escape has a few known issues once they have miles on them. The rear shock mounts corrode, the front suspension sags and the engines start using oil. I would try to sell it as is and use that money to get something else. Just my opinion though.
