Transmission problem
2004 Renault Scenic 4 cyl Automatic 30000 miles

Hi, my car would not start properly, called out RAC, And had a coil pack put in and all new spark plugs, the battery is new too.
If I start the car, it will die within 30 seconds, if I start the car and rev it for a few seconds, it does not die.
There is petrol in the car, what could be the problem?

Hi there,

I would be checking the fuel pump and the pressure regulator first also fit a new filter. Start here.

Hi, thanks, I had this problem back in april too, but the problem retified itself, but the garage did clean out the feul line, is this what you mean?

And back in Nov 07 we had a service, where filters were changed.

The RAC man said it might possibly be my Idle Control, what do you think about this idea?

Kind regards

Hi there,

I feel that the idle control could be at fault, but I would like to See the fuel pressure and pressure regulator checked. If either are faulty you will have fuel supply problems and this will cause your problem.
