Removing power steering pump?

I want to take a chance on this one. Removed belt and the pulley is a bit harder to turn that most pulleys are, not smooth, I think this is where the noise is coming from.

Hello,

The pulley should have some resistance, but it will turn smoothly.
So, it is possible that the bearing is bad.

One way to determine where the noise is coming from is to use an automotive stethoscope (see picture below) and put it on the hub/shaft of the pulley when the engine is running. This can make it easier to determine the source.

I checked and there was some from there but also from one of the belt pulleys, but the noise seemed like it was coming from above of the pulley on top left, area of the air check valve, but with belt off noise is gone.

If the noise is gone with the belt off then it is likely a pulley noise.
