I have been trying to figure it out for a week now and even bought a Hayes manual, it was no help. I cannot get the push rod out of the housing where it goes through the firewall and into the clutch master cylinder. It will not pull out. I do not see any clips holding it in and the dealership said if I brought it there it would be a half hour fix. Can someone please help me out here?

There is a retainer inside the master cylinder that holds the push rod in. It is there so the push rod cannot pull out if the clutch pedal is released faster than the master cylinder can return. To get to it you need to remove the master cylinder from the mount.

One good indication is a leak coming from the back side of it leaking right down the center of the firewall or wherever it is mounted to.
A second might be is there is no leaks but the clutch pedal goes to the floor when pressed and the clutch not work.

Hi there,

You only need to unscrew the pipe at the master cylinder, also you will have to undo the pin that holds the push rod to the pedal under the dash,

Hi there,

take off the clip & drop off the push rod, feel for any sideways movement in the pedal, the pedal pivot bush & pin may be worn, check this next.
