Remote start

My remote starter quit working. It worked fine until my husband accidentally hit the panic button on his remote, now it does not work. When I hit the starter button on my key it beeps but does not start. He also took his key apart and messed with it somehow as well. Would that affect mine?

I would say to take it and both fobs to the dealer. It's likely that his is not recognized now that he opened it and "messed with it" and it is possible it caused an issue in the system. I would say that you could try a reset but without knowing if the remote is actually working or if the car is receiving the signal that could be risky and could result in towing it to the dealer if the immobilizer circuit got tripped.
