Rear valve cover

I need to replace the original rear valve cover. I understand that these 1st generation Highlanders had oil sludge problems back then. I don't think I have a sludge problem, but it does use oil. About a quart per 600 to 700 miles. Only at only at highway speeds, but not around town though. Found y'alls videos on spark plugs and throttle body cleaning. Excellant videos! I learned a lot! Thanks
Wonder if y'all could do one on these valve covers?

As far as the usage, the first thing I would do is a wet and dry compression test. From your description of using oil, it sounds like the rings are worn. If they are bad, you will get a difference of 15 pounds or greater on the wet test from the dry test.
