The rear turn signal light socket on my car lost the spring action to it. I had to remove the old bulbs with needle nose pliers because the bulbs had been in there for so long. When I tried to install new bulbs, I can't rotate them into the slot. The bulbs have two tabs/nipples, one on each side and are offset, one is high and the other is lower on the bulb body. I am lining up the lower tab/nipple with the light socket lower matching groove. I can get the bulb tabs/nipples to the socket slot where you rotate the bulb, but I can't rotate it. Is there a fix to it or do I have to replace them? Would be kind of hard since they are in a difficult spot.

Take out the bulbs and go to auto parts and buy a socket repair kit it has the insulator two wires and spring for it. Then use a mall round wire brush or old toothbrush to get in there and clean it out. Put the new insulator kit in socket and rewire it then you should be able to put the bulb in you will need an 1157 bulb for it.

Thank you on the quick reply. Is there any special fluid or cleaner to use when I clean out the socket?

If it is corroded mix a little baking soda with water like a teaspoon to 1/2 cup water if rusty a brush and some oil followed by brake clean or alcohol to clean oil out. Then let it dry.
