I have the axle out, the old bearing off and ready to press on a new bearing. All the info I have says to install the race into the housing and then the axle with bearing pressed on into that. But the bearing they sold me is one piece. Do I need to get another one?

The service info I have shows a conventional rear axle bearing like the attached image, that gets installed in the rear axle housing, then a seal and the axle is slid through it. That is for the Dana axle and the Chrysler unit as well. Gets installed the same way as the seal using a bearing driver. There are kits that use a press on bearing with a retainer plate that eliminate the C-clip type axle retention, but those are not stock. Does the bearing and axle look like the ones you have?
