It makes a rattling sound when I accelerate and then stalls but engine still running. A thick white smoke is also being produced from the exhaust. (Dwy3 model).

Hi Kevin,

Is the smoke completely white or with a tinge of grey (bluish)?
Do you have any coolant losses or overheating issues?
Is the rattling present when you free rev the engine?
Where is the noise most prominent, which section of engine?
Is the engine oil level correct and did engine ever ran out of engine oil?

The smoke is completely white. I noticed later that it was a cooling issue. I had cracked my radiator I got it repaired and the sound, heard from the drivers side near the engine went away. Now a new problem has arisen. The car seems to shake itself especially when I am accelerating. Have not ran out of engine oil. Checked and levels appeared okay.

Shaking during acceleration can be due to different problems and you need to determine if it is engine performance or drive-train related. By engine related, I mean misfiring of the engine causing the engine to vibrate. This would be amplified by bad engine mounts.

If it is drive train relate, it means the drive axles or related components are faulty and and has gone out of balance causing the vibration.
