I have a rattling coming from somewhere in the front of my SUV when I hit bumps or if the road is a little rough it does it constantly. The noise goes away if I apply the brakes a little. I took it to a brake shop and had the pads and rotors changed and still had the noise. I took it to the dealership, and they changed the struts and still had the noise. I don’t know where or what to do now. Please help.

Good evening,

A common failure is the stabilizer links on both sides. I attached a picture and the procedure for you.

The joints wear out and cause noise.

Thank you for your reply. All of the suspension parts were supposedly checked, and I checked the bar and links myself after they did, and they are tight. I’m at a loss to figure this out.

They can seem tight by hand but under load, they are not.

I would start there.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Can you tell me the best way to check them?

Use a long screwdriver and try to move them in and out of their joint. That is where they fail. They have a ball and socket joint for mounting.
