My car is a Gt 2.5, it seems to just randomly shut off either at a stop or driving. I can tell that my idle might be low. I have changed my plugs, distributor cap and rotor every time it dies I try to turn it over it is like it is out of gas. The only thing I do to get it started again is mess with number one, three and five wires on top of my distributor cap. I unplug then plug back and it starts. It is so dangerous when I am at the light and it dies and I have my kids in the car. Can anyone please help me solve this problem?

Clean throttle plate on both sides and IAC hole with choke cleaner they get gummed up then check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it. See link.

I have cleaned with choke cleaner, next I will fuel pressure. My brother in law said it has something to do with my fuel, but what gets me is I only touch the spark plug wires on my distributor cap to restart my car. I am confused.

If the plug wires are original they may be breaking down inside and it also may be coincidence. Check wires for ohms 5000 per foot. Wiggle them while checking or twisting.
