My car is jumping occasionally and I had just replaced the plugs and wires with correct type and gap. Still jumping but not as bad. An obd reading said random misfire. Next step is replace the coil pack, but am also having trouble with temp. Guage. Could it be coolant sensor, since it would possibly cause a misfire and also guage trouble?

That could be a possibility. A bad temp sensor can cause the vehicle to usually run very rich. You can check the coil. I would also suggest that since it is a random misfire code that to check your fuel pressure, fuel filter, and that your engine did not jump time on the timing belt.
